Scanning, 2006 reedited 2008
During my travels, I let the video camera record the journey of being scanned through airport x-ray machines. The camera lens points indiscriminately at the machine, operators, and passengers capturing a disembodied view. Illustrating the paranoia of contemporary culture, Scanning presents the tautological relationship between my video camera and the x-ray machine and highlights the political act of looking.
